Personal Preparedness

Preparing for possible disasters is a duty that we all share. You have the obligation to get ready for the emergencies that might affect your life and property. TERT is a group of your neighbors who are here to assist you in getting ready for the most common disasters in our area, such as wildfires, earthquakes, winter storms, windstorms, volcanic eruptions and Lahar events. The best time to get ready for these emergencies is NOW before they happen.

No matter where you live in Trilogy, your survival in an emergency will depend largely on how well you prepared beforehand.

The reality is, after a major disaster, you may have to rely on yourself for a long period of time. This means you need to have enough food, water, medications and other supplies for at least two weeks.

Essential services such as electricity, gas, water, sewage treatment, internet, and even cell phone service may not work for days or weeks. You may have to leave your home quickly, taking only what you need with you. At that point, you may not have time to look for the supplies you need.

TERT is a program that trains people to be ready and able to help in a disaster situation. It has a list of people who have the skills and the commitment to assist when needed. However, you should not rely on others to save you in a crisis. You need to learn how to protect yourself and your family from different types of emergencies.
