TERT stands for Trilogy Emergency Readiness Team. To help our neighbors and preserve our unique community TERT was started to be better prepared for emergencies that impact the community. TERT is a VOLUNTARY group of owners that want to help each other and receive a benefit from being prepared when emergency situations occur. TERT does not apply to individual medical situations. TERT is not applicable when local emergency services are on site such as 911 responders. TERT is NOT part of the Home Owners Association (HOA), but the HOA supports the objectives of TERT.
TERT applies when multiple homes and members are affected by an emergency event and 911 response is not available. TERT is supported by Pierce County through https://www.piercecountywa.gov/6007/Emergency-Management-Services
TERT also receives support through volunteers and local support businesses and groups. Volunteers in TERT receive the benefits of their contributions when it is most needed.
- Adjust the team dynamics to more adequately reflect our neighborhood’s needs, abilities, and hazard analysis. Go with more of a generalist concept rather than specialized teams that require sophisticated, complex and hard to find training.
- Re-focus on the basics of emergency preparedness; Make a Plan, Build a Kit, and Help Each Other.
- Prioritize our activities and conduct training to address the most likely scenarios and achieve the greatest return, i.e., Basic First Aid and CPR classes that are easy to locate and attend.
- Hold quarterly meeting/training sessions for all – covering specific topics: CPR and first aid, Communications, general hazard identification, etc.., which would standardize skill levels and enhance overall “trilogy” team cohesiveness.
